Classic doubles drill

Bob's 27 darts practice

Work every double on the board with three darts per target. Darts Match Centre scores the classic Bob's 27 routine, records the round-by-round trail and saves your result against your player profile.

How Bob's 27 works

Start with 27 points and throw three darts at D1. Move through D2, D3 and every double to D20, then finish on bull. A round with one or more hits adds the value of the doubles you hit; a blank round subtracts that target double once.

Start

27 points

The score begins at 27 before D1.

Targets

D1 → D20 → Bull

You get one three-dart round at each target.

Entry

0, 1, 2 or 3 hits

Record the number of darts that landed in the called double.

Example: at D10, two hits add 40 points. Missing D10 with all three darts subtracts 20 points.

What the drill tells you

A normal 501 average can hide weak doubles. Bob's 27 isolates finishing accuracy and makes a blank round costly, which is why it remains a useful doubles-pressure drill.

Consistency

Every double matters

The drill stops you spending an entire practice session on only D16 and D20.

Pressure

Blank rounds hurt

The scoring system makes three misses feel different from casual throw-and-forget practice.
